I’ve been experimenting with different challenges over the last few months & playing around with the finite ideas within Paleo, seeing how my body reacts to different macro ratios, etc.
I understand some readers are merely just looking for how to become Paleo & are looking for the steps & guidance to transition into this wonderful lifestyle (notice I didn’t say diet). Many can just get a list of “Paleo rules” & run with them, while some need more baby steps. For this month, we will focus on a basic Paleo Challenge, posting regularly throughout the rest of the month & into March, providing key information, & completing a nice full easy-to-follow guide by the end.
Challenges, The Good & The Bad:
Participating & committing to challenges can really be a great thing. They keep you motivated & provide a deadline to reach a certain goal.
The problem with challenges, however, is that once the deadline comes, it goes; once that challenge is over, you no longer practice it in your life; post-deadline, you are officially free to do whatever you want! This defeats the purpose of the challenge – which usually is to motivate the development of long-term habits.
Even I am guilty of this: after my November “Get Fit Challenge”, December hit, I said screw it, & stopped working out as much. We all have an area we need to work on, & right now we will focus on our general eating habits.
The thing with Paleo is that it really shouldn't be a temporary trial. Of course, if that's what gets you in the door, this is what it's all about. Try it for 21 days, see how you feel, & assess whether or not you want to keep going. Ideally, the key is to incorporate these habits into your life long-term. If you commit & strictly follow this 21-day Paleo Challenge, I promise you will see & feel a difference, & there will be no doubt that you will want to continue this in the future - way after the month-end deadline.
Join us on this Paleo journey for 21 days starting Monday, February 17 (until March 10th)! We're looking forward to it!
